Weibel CDS AG is a privately owned Swiss Medical Technology Company, founded in 2010 and is headquartered at the foot of mount Säntis in Waldstatt and a Technology Center in Schaffhausen. The company has specialised in customer funded detailed research and development of affordable, innovative, user friendly, patch Injection Systems and Devices assuring safer, easier and faster delivery of Parenteral Drugs for the home, point-of-care and clinical user.
Founded in September 2010 by the late Ludwig Weibel, the company engages in the development of injection devices, drug delivery systems and novel packaging solutions.
Weibel CDS first passed the ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications and was successfully re-certified in 2014 and 2017. Development of the flexible form factor MiniBag primary packaging solution started.
Pharmapack, the first product solution, the SuperCapSyringe was presented. Early 2012 Weibel CDS AG, was the first company to receive the STARTFELD Diamant Award issued to the most innovative start-up company. September 2012 Weibel CDS AG was awarded the CTI Start-up Label and received the certification «ready for sustainable business development» issued by the CTI, now Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency, a federal entity under public law.
Successfully concluded first filling of insulin into the MiniBag as basis of a successful stability study leading to various studies with biologic drugs.
The Reconstyringe was introduced and was first in offering fully automated reconstitution of drugs. Like a Swiss watch, it runs through the full reconstitution cycle.
Extension of drug delivery device solutions, including high volume and high viscosity MiniBag based systems.
Pharmapack – exhibited the new cartridge based DrugDeliverySystem and proofing its power by emptying the largest ever used cartridge. Launch of the Squeezer test system enabling fast and easy stability and preclinical testing of drugs.
Development of the LyCaJect – bringing automatic reconstitution of lyophilized drug to the point of culmination. User study of the SuperCapSyringe confirming the claim – safer, easier and faster drug delivery.
Opening of the Technology Center in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Customization of the VFDP pump used in Weibel CDS’s DrugDeliverySystems to higher volume and high viscosity requirements.
Mechanical Characterisation Testing of the MiniBagSystem completed. New Design of Large Volume Wearable Injector

Hans Peter Manser
Holds a diploma in Business Administration and Applied Technical Management. After perennial stays in the UK, Australia, US, France and Germany, he assumed sales management and executive functions in the communications industry with global responsibilities. Hans Peter Manser transitioned to the pharmaceutical packaging business in 2001 and subsequently joined Weibel CDS in May 2011 as Business Director responsible for setting up and management of all administrative and commercial aspects of the company, taking over the overall responsibility of the company in October 2016.
